Image / Metadata
Metadata Cleaner
Inspect and remove embedded image metadata — separately from compression. Upload or drop images, see what's inside, and strip EXIF, GPS, device details, XMP, IPTC, C2PA / Content Credentials, and PNG text fields. Everything runs locally in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Remove embedded metadata, including GPS, device details, and AI provenance tags. This tool doesn't remove invisible pixel watermarks or guarantee that social platforms won't apply AI labels.

FAQ
Metadata Cleaner — questions
What metadata is removed?
a="EXIF (including GPS, device information, and timestamps), XMP, IPTC, C2PA / Content Credentials, and PNG text fields containing prompts, generation settings, or workflows. Other supported descriptive metadata and comments are also stripped."
Is the removal lossless?
a="For JPEG, PNG, and WebP the metadata-bearing container segments are removed without re-encoding the pixel data, so the encoded pixels are unchanged. A re-encode is only used when EXIF orientation would otherwise rotate the displayed image, or for AVIF/HEIC. Re-encoding is disclosed per file."
Does this prove an image is AI-free?
a="No. Removing metadata and provenance tags does not remove invisible pixel watermarks and does not guarantee that social platforms won't apply AI labels. A file with no metadata is not proof that it is AI-free."
